Mamelodi Sundowns’ attacking midfielder, Luvuyo Phewa, has returned to AmaTuks for his second loan spell, as the club bolsters its squad for the new season.
Phewa, whose parent club is Sundowns, spent the second round of the 2024/25 season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Durban City after arriving in the January transfer window.
He was part of the City team that secured promotion to the Betway Premiership. Reuniting with Pretoria University, his experience could prove valuable for coach Kwanele Kopo.
The talented midfielder is preparing for the new season and is eager to leave behind the challenges that limited his appearances during the first half of the previous season at AmaZulu FC.
His previous stint at Pretoria University in the 2021/22 season was quite successful as he finished as the top goal scorer.
He also earned a Most Promising Player nomination in the Nedbank Cup alongside Mfundo Thikazi and Keegan Allan. Phewa will be hoping to rekindle that spark as he features the club once again.
